Congratulations to ACCESS Community Capital Fund, the not-for-profit winner of the Aprio 2019 Good Governance for All Award!
Our annual Good Governance for All Award recognizes a deserving not-for-profit by providing Aprio board portal software for free to better engage board members, more efficiently run board meetings, and ensure that board information is kept secure.
Serving the Greater Toronto Area and Hamilton, ACCESS helps promising small businesses gain access to financing not available through other sources. Most ACCESS loans go to internationally-trained newcomers to Canada.
Organization Impact
ACCESS help individuals facing barriers to traditional financing from banks to obtain microloans to improve their income through sustainable self-employment.
Governance Needs
As an organization, we’ve done great work recently to bring in new operations efficiencies. We want to do the same on our board. Right now, we send paper copies and emails to directors communicate, which is time consuming and isn’t secure.
Potential Benefits
The Aprio board portal could free up our new Executive Director’s time to work more with clients, collaborate with partners, and lead fundraising. Our busy volunteer directors can use the portal to more efficiently manage their board work.
