Canadian Mental Health Association, Saskatchewan Division, awarded 2017 Good Governance for All Award by Aprio

VANCOUVER – February 27, 2018 – Aprio Inc., Canada’s most trusted provider of board portal software, announced today that the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) Saskatchewan Division, which supports and promotes the rights of persons with mental illness to maximize their full potential, has been awarded free software for three years through the Good Governance for All Award.

Aprio launched the Good Governance for All Awards in 2016 to recognize a deserving Canadian not-for-profit with board portal software to help the organization better engage their board directors and more simply and securely run their board meetings. Aprio is used by Vancity, MEC, TELUS International, Island Health and many other crown corporations, credit unions, public companies and not-for-profits across North America.

“CMHA Saskatchewan Division is a volunteer-based organization that promotes and enhances community mental health,” said Phyllis O’Connor, Executive Director. “Our board members come from a large geographic area and often meet via teleconference to provide guidance and support for mental health in the province. We are pleased to be recognized by Aprio through the 2017 Good Governance for All Award and look forward to improving our board’s efficiency and communications with this software.”

With one in five people experiencing a mental health issue in their lifetime, CMHA Saskatchewan has a province-wide impact. Through oversight of 10 branches, they fight to reduce the stigma of mental illness, provide educational opportunities, deliver services, and advocate for consumers of mental health services. Aprio chose CMHA Saskatchewan because of their goals to enhance the board’s ability to communicate decisions, improve security, and provide a stable communications tool. The 15 diverse board members, including individuals who have experienced mental illness, will access secure, reliable materials from anywhere in the province, on any type of device.

“For 15 years, Aprio’s mission has been to make good governance simple and affordable for every organization,” said Ian Warner. “CMHA Saskatchewan is an extraordinary example of a not-for-profit with high aspirations for impact and limited resources to invest in technology and improved efficiency. We are thrilled to support CMHA Saskatchewan and look forward to assisting many standout charities in the years ahead with our Good Governance for All Awards.”
